The Ann D. Masters Memorial
Clean Valley Council was established 30 years ago and currently has 22 board members consisting of representatives from local governments and businesses, as well as concerned citizens. Ann Davey Masters, after 17 years as Curator of the Art Museum of Western Virginia, became the fourth Executive Director of Clean Valley Council and remained in that role until her death in December 2009. During her tenure, Ann was credited for many exciting initiatives, including a number of the programs such as Fall Waterways Cleanup and Earth Summit. Because of Ann’s passionate commitment, creativity, and connection with many people throughout the Roanoke Valley, she raised awareness of CVC as never before. The Ann D. Masters Memorial will represent Ann's enduring committment to the arts and to the children of the Valley through a wonderful new sculpture garden at Vic Thomas Park and an Environmental Education Scholarship.
