Clean Valley Council Projects

 


Here are some of the other projects we have done over the years. Let us know if you think we need to "recycle" some of them as well!

Take It or Leave It  

 Take It or Leave It- was produced twice a year in a "free flea market" format at the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (landfill authority). 

It was a one day event where you could take something or leave something. No
money changed hands. Little was ever left. It was a place where businesses and individuals could take items (including furniture, computers, working appliances, etc.) for public gleaning. It reduced the waste stream considerably and helped many folks.

Books for Africa  

 Books for Africa was a project where we collected of 30,000 used books to supply schools in Kisumu, Kenya, a sister city of Roanoke City.

Earth Summit

Earth Summit is an annual a one day congress for high school juniors and seniors of the greater Roanoke Valley.
