Breakell, Inc.
Breakell Inc. joins Clean Valley Council in its mission to protect and restore the Roanoke Valley’s beautiful natural environment. The environmental effect of our actions is always considered at Breakell Inc., both in the office or on the jobsite. Breakell Inc. takes stringent measures to reduce energy use by utilizing strict conservation practices and using clean energy produced by our 15 kilowatt array of solar panels to power our building. Company-wide recycling is encouraged by providing recycling centers at 2 points in the building. These centers collect paper, plastic, cans, glass, metal, aluminum, e-waste, packaging, fluorescent light bulbs. And employees are encouraged to bring their difficult to recycle items into the office where an appropriate location for disposal is found other than the landfill.
Breakell Inc.’s corporate office sits directly on the banks of the Roanoke River. This strengthens our commitment to mitigating stormwater runoff by: installing a green” vegetated” roof, landscaping with native, drought tolerant plants, adding pervious surfaces to the parking lots and using water captured by our rainbarrel to water plants and scrubs.
Breakell Inc. believes that on-going education is the key to changing behavior and we applaud Clean Valley Council’s continuing work in the community to protect our environment and to serve as an educational resource for the citizens of the Roanoke Valley.
