

Meet Lilly Meighan and Laura Schirmer
Lilly Meighan works for the Western Virginia Water Authority, where she leads community engagement through educational outreach and strategic communications. Lilly earned a Bachelor’s in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech and a Master's in Agricultural and Environmental Education from the University of Georgia. Lilly is passionate about raising awareness of the importance of protecting and investing in a community’s water resources and infrastructure. A true advocate for water education, she even has a favorite benthic macroinvertebrate - the caddisfly!

​Laura Schirmer is the Public Relations Specialist for the Western Virginia Water Authority. She specializes in environmental education, marketing, and communications by providing community outreach, in-class programs for school groups, and tours of the authority's treatment facilities. She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s in Health Services Administration and has focused on marketing and public health in her career.
