About The Event

The Roanoke River Project (RRP) is a citizen science water-monitoring program focused on the health of the Roanoke River and surrounding streams.

The program certifies volunteers to become stream monitors, who then collect and count benthic macroinvertebrates to receive a stream health score. Benthic macroinvertebrates are good ecological indicators that give a snapshot of stream conditions.

Workshops on different dates, beginning on Saturday, March 28, and at various times, and locations are being offered. For more information and to secure the date, time, and location that works best for you, click here today.

This Citizen Science certification is free and open to the public.
