Meet Brian S. Haynesworth

Brian S. Haynesworth serves as the Solid Waste Manager for the City of Roanoke, VA. He has been in the post since August of 2021. He has 20-plus years of work experience in Solid Waste Management and seven years of work experience in Environmental Compliance. He served in management and directorship positions in North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.

 

Mr. Haynesworth graduated with a degree in chemistry from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. He went on to do graduate studies in chemistry and public health at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He also has Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) certificates in Management of Landfill Operations, Transfer Station Operations, and Collections Operations.

 

When not working, Brian enjoys spending time with family, working out, listening to Jazz, and watching collegiate and professional sports.
