About The Event

Charlie Filer is the Earth Science & Ecology teacher at Glenvar High School and faculty advisor for the Glenvar High School G-Bees. The student-run environmental/pollinator club manages the school apiary, while producing, marketing, and selling honey along with other hive products. All profits from their hives go to the science and ecology departments, and scholarships that are awarded to graduating seniors.


Mr. Filer will discuss the G-Bees' success and Glenvar High's outdoor education program. G-Bees hive product will be for sale. (Cash or check only.)


Star City Sustainability Series programs, hosted by Clean Valley Council, are free and open to the public. Registration is required.


Clean Valley Council is located inside Heights Community Church, 2014 Memorial Ave., SW, Roanoke 24015. This event will be in the Welcome Center on the Roanoke Co+op side of the building.
