Star City Sustainability Series presents

Guest speaker Leigh Anne Weitzenfeld, Roanoke City's Sustainability Outreach Coordinator, is passionate about facilitating community wellbeing, resiliency, and sustainability, and working toward a net-zero carbon emissions future to mitigate against the harmful effects of climate change.

In her current position, she helped shape Roanoke’s Climate Action Plan. While water quality administrator for Roanoke City’s Stormwater Division, she worked to restore the health of local streams, educate on key environmental issues, and facilitate community partnerships to achieve a “Clean Water Legacy.”

Leigh Anne earned a master’s degree in natural resources from the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability at Virginia Tech, a master’s certificate in global sustainability, and a botany degree from North Carolina State University.

Star City Sustainability Series programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required. Clean Valley Council is located at Heights Community Church. This event will be in the Welcome Center.
